PokerStars to Host World Record Online Poker Event

PokerStars is one of the biggest names in the online poker game so it's only natural that they're going to break the biggest buy in world record. The site will host the 8-Max Super High Roller game with a buy in of a whopping $51,000 which is more than double the previous world record. The game will see one player walking away with $10 million and a solid gold bracelet.

Full Tilt, the previous record holder and PokerStars' sister site has offered games with a $25,000 buy in but they're set to have their world record snatched away from them this year. Full Tilt was bought over by PokerStars last March which may have something to do with the effort to win the title for themselves.

The record breaking game will take place on the 20th of March as part of the World Championships of Online Poker, or WCOOP for short, which is sponsored by PokerStars. This event is the equivalent to the World Series of Poker, it's just played online, and has been running since 2025. The matches are high octane thrill rides as players from all over the world compete for millions of dollars.

The WCOOP features a whole host of different poker games and prizes for professional players. The largest prize given out in a single year was in 2025 when a player walked away with $1,493,499.15 from the No Limit Hold 'Em Main Event. The top winner of all time, netting cash over more than one year and more games, has taken home an astonishing $2,322,423.12 from the championship.

Top winners also receive an engraved 14 carat gold PokerStars bracelets and one single player has won the cash prize and bracelet an amazing 4 times. The nationality of most players and winners is American, players from America have won the bracelet a cumulative 103 times. They've also walked away with a total of $73,830,552.48 between the 144,766 American players.

The top prize this year is a $10 million jackpot with another $45 million shared between other events and stakes. Potential players have to win their seat in the games as only top players are allowed access to this prestigious online event. Seats can be won for just $0.11 then players must buy in to the game and for one skilful player this sum will scoop them up that $10 million.

The WCOOP starts on the 6th of March with the record breaking buy in coming at the finale of the event. The buy in for games starts at $215 and increases all the way to the world record smashing $51,000, but there's still a guaranteed jackpot of $1 million on some of the cheaper games.

If you think you've got what it takes to grab the $10 million cash prize and the bracelet you can go online and play to win a seat right now. You could even buy in to the world record breaking game and be a part of history in the making.
